In October 2005 , Pauline & Robert Livesey, purchased an established garden, lavender and rosemary propagation nursery in Waiuku, South Auckland, and became custodians of the North Island Lavender Collection. Unfortunately, Robert is no longer with us but together we made many changes to our slice of paradise. The large cottage garden is flourishing with display areas, more rows of lavender and therapeutic herbs. There is a distillation area, designated workshop, a 'Lab' for manufacturing Pauline's organic skincare formulations, and a shop/gallery/meeting area looking out over the rambling garden.

Pauline, an experienced teacher and Formula Botanica graduate, runs workshops for small groups, entertains large groups with tours and talks and, during the winter months, gets out and about the Auckland area to talk to a range of social groups. There isn't much time to sleep!

New Zealand Lavender Growers Association

Pauline is an active member of New Zealand Lavender Growers Association. The association works with growers to achieve a defined standard for New Zealand lavender oil and to continue with further research projects which will benefit the industry. Leafy Hollow has won several awards, in recent years, for the quality of the lavender oil grown and distilled here on site.
